Make a hand-built ceramic planter that looks like a succulent. Learn classic clay coil hand-building techniques.

What’s this class all about?

This is a great introduction to clay. This 2.5 hour class will let you get creative and have fun learning a new skill. You’ll build a beautiful planter that every gardener will be jealous of.

  • Succulents will be provided, along with taking care of them: 101 – tips and tricks to keeping your new succulent alive!

HAUS OF partner with local charities so that we can provide vulnerable people with arts classes that help them stay on the right track. Whether that’s dealing with addiction, staying off the street, finding safety from violence or healing mental illness, we use what we know about the healing nature of art to help people feel empowered. About the Tutor

Rachel is an abstract ceramicist who runs the ceramics for HAUS OF, her community arts project. From a very young age Rachel began working with clay with her father who was a potter for many years. Rachel is passionate about the arts and has an experimental eye for sculpture and homeware. Rachel holds a BSc in Broadcast Journalism and a MA in International Politics and Human Rights. Coming from a background of charity and government work, Rachel is ready to explore a more grassroots solution to tackling London’s most pressing problems. She believes art gives people back their dignity and helps people realise the beauty in life through the mindfulness artistic work requires.
