Join us for our new course writing fiction and learn writers’ secrets. If you are a beginner, this four week course is ideal. It is led by published author and experienced tutor, Mark Kirkbride, who gives you lots of support.

Limited to 12 writers
You will learn the key elements of fiction and put them into practice in a friendly and supportive group. The four weeks will cover everything you need to know if you want to start writing. The course includes
- coming up with ideas and basic decisions (genre, point of view and tense)
- character creation and conflict
- structure
- scenes and plot
- showing instead of telling
This four week course is ideal for beginners who are keen to learn writers’ secrets and launch into prose – either short stories or something longer. All you need is a notebook (paper or IT) and a pen.
Each week Mark gives you
- support notes which summarise the week’s lesson
- homework to help you improve your writing
