Join us for a short course painting the Autumn in oils. Diana Braybrook leads the four week course which is suitable for anyone who loves painting with oils, or wants to give it a try. In this course we shall focus an autumn theme: “Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’ (John Keats, ode to Autumn). We believe that Keats was inspired to write the poem after a walk in the water meadows behind Winchester College near his home.
This series of four oil painting workshops is for anyone who loves painting with oil paints, or wants to give them a try.
Wednesdays 10am – 1pm
9 – 30 November inclusive
Course Fee: Full – £105 ; Retiree – £90 ; Concession – £70
Limited to 9 artists
Our studio is a place for you to plan and start a painting; then bring it to fruition with support and encouragement from an experienced oil painter.
Over the four sessions Diana will
- show you examples of other painters’ work and suggest ways of mixing a good range of autumnal colours
- help you compose and start your own autumn painting, using your own photos and sketches as a starting point. You could choose to paint a landscape, cityscape, or a still life you have set up at home and sketched or photographed. Alternatively, you might like to create a more abstract painting using an autumnal colour scheme
- show you ways in which different oil painting techniques can be used most effectively as your painting progresses
It doesn’t matter if you are just starting your journey with oil paints, or an experienced artist, this short oil painting course suits artists with all levels of experience. You’ll be able to develop your style in the company of like minded artists.
Sorry, we have no more places for this session. If you want to join us in the New Year, please email info@openealing and reserve a place.
