When we ran this course the first time at OPEN, it sold out. Don’t miss out, sign up for this mixed media workshop early.
During the workshop you’ll investigate the different ways wax can be used on paper and fabric; as a resist to create surface decoration, and a medium to alter the structure of a surface.
Initially you will explore pattern and mark making, using a range of wax resist techniques to produce a variety of exciting coloured papers and fabrics. These will provide the basis for your investigations into the properties of wax.
During the course you will be able to experiment with the techniques of translucency, structure and stitch. You’ll work in a dimensional manner, layering, manipulating and constructing your final samples.
No matter your level of experience, everyone is welcome to join us and explore waxed surfaces with Amarjeet.
We provide light refreshments throughout the day, but please bring your lunch. Or you could visit our neighbouring cafes in Dickens Yard – there are lots to choose from.
