The Popogrou Collective is a group of poets, based in the UK and across the world. Their work celebrates innovation and playfulness in poetry and literature; from textual, visual, performative to collaborative.
The first Popogrou anthology features multiple Kingston University alumni and is published by Kingston University’s own press. Simon Tyrrell is the editor and 19 Popogrou members have poems included in the anthology.
We are very lucky that 14 of the poets featured in the book will share short solo performances and readings. Performers this evening are

About Popogrou
Popogrou is a worldwide collective with nineteen active members. It emerged from writer and artist SJ Fowler’s online Potential Poetries workshop programme, established during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. The group welcomes all concepts of poetry and methods of making it.
The Popogrou Collective Anthology is a variety of work that reflects the expansive ideas of poetry and literature enabled and explored by the collective. The work is generous, inclusive, unconventional and celebratory. The volume honours the fellowship of a distinctively creative and productive collective of writers and artists, whose encouragement, support and insight continues to contribute to the evolution of everyone’s personal and collaborative practice.”
