About the Tutor
Laurie O’Garro founded Funky String Art in 2014. She is a teacher with over thirty years’ experience in a variety of settings (mainstream school, after school and community projects). Since then, she has run daytime classes for adults and after school and lunchtime string art classes. Since the lockdown, Laurie has run online classes for children and adults.
Laurie is passionate about encouraging creativity in children and sharing with the next generation a craft she herself learned as child in primary school, where a child’s curiosity was valued more than end of year test results.
