Develop your Portrait Drawing Skills in a three hour workshop with professional portrait artist and tutor, Stella Tooth.

Limited to 7 artists
If you can draw faces but want to improve your techniques and hone your skills, this three hour workshop is for you. It is a practical course and we work with a live model. During the session you will focus on a new technique and materials to help grow your understanding of how to capture the character and subtlety of a face.
MATERIALS
You need to bring your own materials for the workshop.
- A good quality A3 drawing pad with rigid back
- 1 good quality 2B and 4B pencil
- HB pencils with rubbers on the end
- Sharpeners
- Masking tape
- Wet wipes
We’ll provide the easels and drawing boards and make sure all equipment is sanitised before the workshop.

About the Tutor
Stella Tooth is an Ealing-based figurative artist, specialising in portraiture and musicians.
As a member of the Lots Road Group of portraitists, she undertakes both painted and drawn portrait commissions of adults, children and pets and has portrayed well-known sitters, such as the BBC’s Kate Adie and John Humphrys.
She creates images which go beyond the photographic depiction of moments in time to capture lives lived up to this moment. In her busker and venue entertainer artworks, her focus is on capturing the creative energy of performing live and she is resident artist at iconic music venue the Half Moon Putney.
Winner of the Judges’ Prize at Egypt’s first biennale (2013), she has exhibited at the Milan Expo, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and National Open Art exhibitions (2015). And she exhibits annually in BEAT (Borough of Ealing Art Trail) open studios.
She has taught drawing for six years in the inspiring surrounds of the V&A, National Portrait Gallery, The Courtauld and Tate Britain for Sketchout.
