The Programme

In this edition we feature sets from

endolymph

endolymph is the fluid contained in the membranous labyrinth of the inner ear, fluid waves in the
endolymph of the cochlear duct stimulate the receptor cells, which in turn translate their movement into nerve impulses that the brain perceives as sound.
endolymph is a low frequency free improv trio for double bass, euphonium and sine waves consisting of electronic sound artist Andrew Page (raxil4) and members of the free jazz ensemble the Apocalypse Jazz Unit: Hywel Jones (euphonium) and Jordan Muscatello (double bass).

Massimo Magee

Massimo Magee is a writer, artist and musician based in London. His work is wide-ranging, including fiction, text art, sound and image audiovisual digital art pieces, digital visual art, experimental music (improvised, composed and everything in between), free jazz, radically extended saxophony, electronics, data manipulation and much more. His acoustic solo alto saxophone record, Toneflower, was released in August 2022 on 577 Records from New York, a label he has worked with on numerous releases since 2020, including in Cyclone Trio with Tony Irving and Tim Green and in a quartet with Eddie Prévost, Ken Ikeda and Joshua Weitzel.

Drew Wesely

Drew Wesely is a guitarist, composer, and improvisor based out of Brooklyn, NY. Their music
explores relationships between timbre, gesture, duration and the fractal scales of form that
emerge through improvisation. Their compositional approach aims to set processes in motion
which engage spacial and physical aspects of sound perception.
Drew’s interest in how states of consciousness affect the unfolding of sound as an experience and
the implications it presents as an embodied phenomena has led them to create large-scale,
immersive installation works including the curation and production of the interdisciplinary series
“Invocation” alongside artists from radically divergent practices and histories.
