About John Chilton School
John Chilton School is a specialist school for pupils aged 4-19 years with learning difficulties and often an additional sensory, physical or medical need. It is an exciting, stimulating and innovative place to learn. Experienced, skilled and dedicated staff work closely with families and professionals to ensure every pupil feels safe, valued and encouraged to succeed. The school takes great pride in knowing their young people well and in creating an environment that reflects our diverse community, where everyone learns from one another and grows together.
Message from the Headteacher
Independence, confidence and motivation sit at the heart of our ethos; we recognise that every child is unique, and we adapt our environment, learning pathways and specialist support to ensure that all pupils can access creative opportunities, whatever their individual strengths or challenges. Art gives our pupils a way to create with freedom, and express themselves as individuals. This exhibition showcases more than finished artworks; it celebrates courage, experimentation and self-belief. It demonstrates how, at John Chilton School, we empower pupils to take ownership of their learning, to feel proud of who they are, and to communicate their voices in ways that feel meaningful to them.
We feel truly honoured to support our pupils’ holistic development and hope you enjoy experiencing their artwork as much as we have enjoyed supporting them on their creative journeys.
