Event details
Join us for an exciting session at the Nature Show Exhibition at Open Ealing! We will explore the fascinating connection between mathematics, nature, and art. Book now for “Maths in Art and Nature”! (Suggested age: 9+. At least one adult must be booked in with a child).

Maths in art:
Together, we will explore various pieces of art in the exhibition, uncovering the mathematical principles hidden within the artwork. From symmetry and geometry to patterns and proportions, we will also discover how maths influences artistic creation.
Maths in nature:
Dive deep into the natural world’s most famous number sequence—the Fibonacci spiral—and learn how it appears in everything from flowers to shells, and even in famous works of art! We will discuss its beauty and significance, and then get hands-on creating art inspired by Fibonacci’s golden ratio.

Create Art with Graphs, Lines, Shapes, and Colour:
Unleash your creativity through interactive activities where we will use graphs, lines, shapes, and colour to make stunning visual art.
This session is perfect for anyone interested in the intersection of maths, nature, and art. Whether you’re an artist, a mathematician, or simply someone curious about the natural beauty that surrounds us, there’s something for everyone. No prior experience in maths or art is necessary—just come with an open mind and a love for discovery!
