Cacao Ceremony and Sound Bathing
For thousands of years, cacao has been honoured in indigenous traditions as a sacred plant medicine, known for its ability to open the heart, enhance connection, and heighten sensory awareness. In this immersive session, we weave together the ancient wisdom of cacao with the therapeutic power of sound, creating a space for deep relaxation, clarity, and inner exploration.
Just as The Nature Show transforms urban art by infusing it with the organic world, this ceremony blends ritual and modern practice, bridging the gap between past and present, city and nature, self and environment.
We begin by setting intentions and drinking ceremonial cacao—a delicious, nourishing superfood rich in nutrients and bioactive compounds that increase resilience to stress, boost cognitive function, and strengthen immunity. Then, we settle in comfortably for the immersive sound bath experience. The effects of cacao are enhanced by the sacred sounds of gongs, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, Koshi bells, therapeutic percussion, and more. The combination of cacao and therapeutic sound cultivates a state of full-body bliss, opening the heart, expanding the mind, and deepening your connection to the wisdom of the body.
Join us for this unique fusion of art, sound, and plant medicine—an opportunity to connect with yourself and the natural world in an experience that resonates far beyond the gallery walls.
What should I bring?
Please bring your own mat, a cushion, a blanket, and a warm jumper or a blanket to keep warm and comfortable during the sound bath part of the session. An eye mask may also be nice to use.
Who can join?
Everyone is welcome – experienced meditators and those curious to try a gong bath for the first time. The beauty of a gong bath meditation is that anyone can enjoy it, no experience necessary. (Please see note below about circumstances where gong baths might not be suitable).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Gong baths are not suitable for anyone with a pacemaker, anyone who suffers from fits (epileptics), or anyone who is extremely sensitive to sound. They are also not recommended for women in the first trimester of pregnancy due to the unstable nature of pregnancy during that time. If you wear a hearing aid, your device should be turned off during the session. Cacao ceremonies are not recommended for individuals who are taking MAOI inhibitors, have heart conditions, or are highly sensitive to caffeine, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women. Additionally, those with certain medical conditions or on specific medications should consult a healthcare professional before participating.
