Event details
Slow-Art Day is Saturday, 5 April! Join us for a tranquil and immersive, 1-hour “Slow Art” session at The Nature Show exhibition, currently on display at Open Ealing Arts Centre. This event invites you to experience the art in a completely different way—by slowing down and deeply engaging with the artwork. In our fast-paced world, we often rush through exhibitions without fully taking in the details. The Slow-Art practice encourages you to take your time, observe carefully, and reflect on what you see.

What to Expect in a Slow-Art Session:
During this slow-art session, you’ll be guided to look at selected artworks from The Nature Show exhibition in a relaxed, mindful way. We will spend between 5-10 minutes on several pieces, allowing participants to absorb the details, colors, textures, and overall atmosphere. Afterwards, we’ll gather for a group discussion where participants can share their impressions and insights. There will be plenty of time for reflection and personal discovery.
Benefits of Slow-Looking at art:
Deepens Connection: By slowing down, you can develop a more meaningful connection to the artwork, noticing details that might have been overlooked in a hurried visit.
Enhances Mindfulness: Slow art practices can help you to be present, improving your focus and mindfulness, and reducing stress.
Increases Appreciation: This approach fosters a greater appreciation for the artist’s process and the time and energy invested in each piece.
Encourages Reflection: Taking the time to look carefully encourages deeper reflection, making your experience of art more thoughtful and personal.

Who Should Attend Slow-Art Day:
This session is perfect for anyone who wants to explore art in a more thoughtful and reflective way, whether you’re a seasoned art lover or someone new to art appreciation.
