Contemporary calligraphy is not only a beautiful art form, it is an immensely soothing pastime. In this relaxed group workshop you learn how to create your own modern calligraphy using a pointed pen.
The class is aimed at complete beginners who want to find their own calligraphic style. All you need, is your enthusiasm and a love of lettering. Grania will bring the Prosecco together with all the tools and experience you need to help you create your own cards.
We start with exercises that get you familiar with the shapes and strokes in calligraphy. Then we move onto the letter forms and by the end of the evening you’ll be creating joined up words.
You will have plenty of individual support during the class. By the end of the evening you’ll have the skills to write beautiful cards, envelopes and things like menus and place cards to add a special touch to events!
Classes are limited to 10 people and everyone has their own 2m table.

About the Tutor
Grania O’Brien is passionate about ink and paper. After a career in advertising and market research, she decided to return to what she truly loves: designing and creating beautiful things. She studied Fine Art at Central St Martins followed by a degree in Book Arts at London College of Printing before setting up Ink & Paper Design.
