Class details

Join Nick Pearson in a series of online gallery tours of London’s permanent art collections, as well as selected, special exhibitions you might have missed. Of course, this can never substitute for the real thing, but you do get to view an exhibition from the comfort of your own home!

The price for the two-hour virtual tour and notes is £20 per person. If two of you join the tour and share a computer screen, the price is £30 for you both. You can pay Nick via bank transfer or cheque. He will send you the details.

Online Tours in September

Wednesday 1 September : 10.30am : Join Nick for a tour of his favourites from the National Gallery’s permanent collection. You’ll cover works of art from 17th-century Baroque to 19th-century Romanticism

Tuesday 7 September : 1.30pm : National Gallery: Mantegna and Bellini (Exhibition: Oct 2018–Jan 2019)

Thursday 9 September : 10.30am : In 2018 the National Gallery had an exhibition of Monet’s work in relation to architecture. Nick loved this show. Join him and find out why.

Wednesday 15 September : 10.30am : Tate Britain: Highlights from the Permanent Collection 

Wednesday 15 September : 2.00pm Tate Modern: Highlights from the Permanent Collection (Part III) 

Join the online gallery tours via Zoom. If you have not used Zoom before, Nick can show you how to download and use the program.

Support Notes

When you have booked your place, Nick sends you a handout with high resolution images. You can refer to this handout during the lecture and see the images clearly. He projects the images on his studio wall and uses them to point things out as he speaks. After the tour Nick sends you his lecture notes.

About the Tutor

Nick is an internationally exhibited artist and an enthusiastic lecturer. He has a passion for art of all period and teaches at various levels in schools, colleges, universities and adult learning centres; including

  • London College of Contemporary Art
  • Richmond Art School
  • OPEN Ealing
  • University of Oxford
  • Northampton University
  • Bradford College of Art

His artistic practice encompasses sculpture, drawing and photographic work. His simple interventions and appropriations of the familiar things that surround us are made uncanny by way of his approach and working practices.
