Every human being is an artist

Joseph Beuys

The artist, Joseph Beuys certainly understood creativity as our primal instinct when he said, “Every human being is an artist.”

Sometimes though life gets in the way; and we need to be reminded of the immense joy we can feel when we give ourselves the time to play, discover, and refine our voices, images, and dreams.

Come and ‘play’ with words that will help you to tap into your inner artist. By unleashing your creativity you can celebrate the art of being you. That’s what self-care Sundays are all about.

How does the session work?

Using visual imagery and other mixed media as writing prompts, Dr Madar will guide you through specific writing activities. These are designed to help release the words within you in a positive and creative way. You will also discover how these writing activities are tools which you can take away with you to use throughout life.

Writing does not always have to be a solitary experience; and this is what makes group workshops so great; they are enhanced by the support and energy of other participants. We will also be sure to begin with warm up writing games to chase away those “I can’t write anything” jitters.

You do not need any previous writing experience to enjoy and benefit from this session. What’s more, it all takes place in a supportive and non-judgemental space. You never have to read out anything you have written; so you can write whatever you want and in whatever style you want. Join us on Sunday 26 September and enjoy unleashing your creativity.
